On behalf of Kingsclere Medical Practice and Oakley and Overton Partnership
Merger of Kingsclere, Oakley and Overton Medical Practices
We would like to update you about important changes to your GP Surgery. You do not have to take any action as a result of this letter.
We are sure you are aware of the challenges currently faced by the NHS and GP practices. In particular, it is necessary for us to develop and adapt in these changing times. Our practices share the same commitment to quality care and our goal is not simply to maintain the quality of care and services, but to improve it. We have therefore decided the best way forward is to merge.
In merging, we will be able to share working arrangements and work together to preserve and develop general practice and associated services in this area. We have begun to make arrangements for the merger from 1st October 2018.
From the 1st October our name will change to Watership Down Health. We will continue to work from the same 3 sites with the same team.
Your registration will not be affected and you will be able to be seen by one of our doctors or nurses at any of our premises.
We have a long history of providing compassionate and personal care and have always been touched by the positive feedback and support we get from our patients. Our vision is to continue to provide high quality medical care delivered by a friendly, motivated team within all our communities and together will be better placed to make the most of opportunities that the NHS will present to us to develop further.
We understand that you may have questions about the merger and we intend to address your concerns by a number of means:
- We have tried to answer some of the questions we think you may have and these questions and answers can be found on our website or can be made available in paper format and in larger font, if required.
- Information is available in the waiting rooms.
- If you have any specific queries please contact our Practice Business Manager, Susie Altmeyer-Ennis either on 01256 772 761, or email her: email@example.com. Alternatively please feel free to speak to any of our practice managers and senior partners.
Whilst we will all work extremely hard to minimise the disruption, we ask that any Repeat Prescription requests are given to us, well before our merger date to enable us to process them. In addition, as we will go onto a single computer system, we will not be able to book future appointments in the few days leading up to the merger. Normal business will be resumed after the 1st October 2018.
This will be a time of change for all of us at Oakley and Overton medical practices. We are grateful for your understanding during this time.
